The event also featured the presentation of the Prime Minister’s Science Award 2025 to lower- and upper-secondary school students in recognition of their outstanding achievements in science. Distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of MHESI; Mr. Wichian Suksroi, Secretary to the Minister; H.E. Dr. Angela Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand; Ms. Thea Martine Ottmann, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Royal Norwegian Embassy; representatives from the embassies of China, Japan, Denmark, and France; as well as senior MHESI executives. The ceremony took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.
Ms. Sudawan stated that the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) is committed to advancing the policy “Build Knowledge, Open Opportunities, Create Thailand’s Future” and turning it into tangible outcomes through two key missions: Developing human resources equitably and reducing educational inequality. Moreover, Elevating science, research, and innovation to drive the nation through knowledge. These missions align with the concepts of MHESI Fair 2025: Creators of Tomorrow and NST Fair 2025: Science in Action! For Sustainable Communities, reflecting the integration of both policy areas into a platform that goes beyond exhibitions and academic seminars. The event serves as a space that inspires creativity leading to action, while offering opportunities for youth, researchers, entrepreneurs, and the public to take part in shaping Thailand’s future by merging science and the arts into true innovation. MHESI prioritizes enhancing the potential of Thai people through three main policies: The first one is Build Knowledge: Provide intensive learning spaces through exhibitions, technology, and activities that integrate both science and art, fostering knowledge, ideas, and skills among people of all ages. The second one is Open Opportunities: Connect research, technology, and scholarships to ensure equal access to learning and development, especially for vulnerable groups and youth in remote areas. The third one is Create Thailand’s Future: Drive Soft Power, Deep Tech, and future industries through collaboration between government agencies, universities, and businesses, enabling Thailand to be competitive on the global stage. These policies contribute to creating an ecosystem of learning, research, and creativity that connects classrooms, laboratories, communities, and businesses to meet the demands of future industries such as AI, EVs, semiconductors, smart farming, the space economy, and Thailand’s unique Soft Power.
“This is not just an event. It is the design of a better version of Thailand through the power of creative thinking and action. I invite everyone to come seek inspiration, to ‘create’ and to ‘build Thailand’s future’ together,” the Minister said.
