Schneider Electric Prioritizes CUSTOMER FIRST Strategy to Drive Sustainability Transition
Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, unveiled its core strategy for 2025 to accelerate the sustainability transition for customers and partners through a proven formula. The company is committed to fostering a robust ecosystem and creating business opportunities through sustainability, enabled by its advanced products, solutions, and services for maximizing energy efficiency.
This strategic focus is reflected in Schneider Electric’s 2024 global revenue of €38.153 billion, with 74 percent attributed to business activities that deliver positive environmental impact. The company is prioritizing a customer-first approach to empower “Impact Makers” and bridge the Green Impact Gap.
“As an IMPACT company, Schneider Electric’s goal is to create positive impact across the entire ecosystem, we has successfully achieved our carbon reduction targets and continue to lead by example as an impact company model”, said Mr. Mongkhon Tangsiriwit, Cluster President of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar of Schneider Electric “We recognize the importance of embedding sustainability within our own operations and extending this commitment to our partners and customers to empower them to become Impact Makers”.
Schneider Electric’s approach to sustainability is driven by an integrated approach in three key sustainability pillars to help business turn ambition into action:
- Strategize: Developing effective strategies with actional planning that deliver measurable outcomes across the ecosystem and supply chain
- Digitize: Implementing technology from initial consultation to performance measurement
- Decarbonize: Taking impactful action by leveraging advanced technology and analytics to effectively reduce carbon emissions
Additionally, the increasing demand from businesses for sustainability solutions in recent years has fueled Schneider Electric’s consistent growth. In 2024, the company reported a total revenue of €38.153 billion indicating an organic growth of 8 percent. Notably, 74 percent of this revenue are impact revenue.
- Climate Change – Significantly affecting businesses across Asia, with 70 percent identifying it as a high-impact risk, reporting a 41 percent increase in costs over the past 12 months, and 32 percent experiencing physical and asset damage.
- Digital and AI Acceleration – The surge in AI adoption and digital transformation is driving unprecedented demand for data center energy. Energy needs have increased more than tenfold, even as 93 percent of businesses in Asia adopt digital strategies to support their sustainability goals, they still face growing energy demands.
- Energy Transition – Rising energy demand is accelerating the shift toward cleaner energy. Research by the World Economic Forum suggests that implementing measures to transform energy demand by 2030 could yield $2 trillion in annual savings. However, 29 percent of companies surveyed cite the maturity of clean energy alternatives as a barrier to decarbonization and are far more likely to invest in efficiency measures rather than transition.
Empowering organizations to become Impact Makers is a core mission for Schneider Electric, directly addressing these megatrends and unlocking growth opportunities through sustainability. The company, in partnership with Milieu Insight, conducted its annual Green Impact Gap survey among 4,500 business leaders across nine countries (Indonesia, Japan, MalaysiaPhilippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam) and 500 business leaders in Thailand.
The survey underscores the importance of investing in digital transformation to achieve tangible sustainability outcomes. Findings reveal that while 95 percent of companies in the surveyed countries have sustainability goals, only 47 percent are taking comprehensive actions to achieve them. In Thailand, the sustainability action gap in 2024 stands at 50 percent, with 98 percent of companies having sustainability goals but only 48 percent implementing comprehensive strategies.
Furthermore, 83 percent of Thai businesses prioritize sustainability, with 74 percent of top executives considering it crucial for their companies, and 39 percent recognizing sustainability initiatives as leading to increased business opportunities. Impact Makers are advancing sustainability through digital transformation, focusing on climate change and carbon reduction, and understanding the importance of ecosystem collaboration for shared success.
“Schneider Electric is committed to driving the entire ecosystem, including customers and partners, towards becoming Impact Makers. We are developing innovative solutions and software to support Electricity 4.0, which is key to driving energy transition on both the demand and supply sides and reducing carbon emissions in energy sourcing. Our ‘Digital + Electric = Sustainable’ formula effectively addresses these megatrends, particularly in four key market segments: Buildings, Data Centers, Industry, and Infrastructure,” added Mr. Mongkhon.
Notably, buildings account for 37 percent of global CO2 emissions. Building technology and energy management solutions can reduce energy consumption by approximately 40 percent through digital upgrades and technology and decrease operational carbon emissions by up to 77 percent with Schneider Electric’s solutions.
In the residential sector, Schneider Electric offers comprehensive Home Energy Management Solutions (HEMS) integrated with AI to manage energy generation, storage, and consumption. This empowers homeowners to control their energy usage and related costs. For data centers, industry, and infrastructure, Schneider Electric provides energy and sustainability services, software, and solutions through EcoStruxure, an innovation that transforms challenges into opportunities on the path to Net Zero.
To recognize partners, customers, and suppliers committed to sustainability through the adoption of innovative solutions to carbon reduction and who are leading the way as Impact Makers to achieve a more resilient, electric, and net-zero world., Schneider Electric has recognized five leading Thai companies as country winners of the Sustainability Impact Awards 2024.
